Quick Reference
Rotation Lookups
Where rotation files live: Look for files named tr1-select-articles-rotation-{list-name}.md
in the vault root or templates folder. Each file holds one rotation list.
Adding items: Each item is an ## heading (h2) followed by properties:
## My New Item Title
description: What this item is about
avoids: What to steer away from
notes: Extra context or tips
custom-field: Any extra key you want
How selection works: Uses day-of-year modulo — (doy + delta) % itemCount.
Each day picks a different item. The delta offset (set at instantiation) shifts
the pick forward or backward. Add more items to the file and the rotation adapts
automatically.
Cross-list placeholders: In any property value, use [list-name] to insert
the selected title from another rotation list. For example, if you have a
mega-categories list and an angles list, an angle description can say:
description: Apply [mega-categories] through this lens — and it resolves
automatically at instantiation.
Phrases
Phrase files:tr1-select-articles-phrases.md (master) and tr1-select-articles-{dateStamp}-phrases.md (instance).
Add bullet items under step-scoped headings like ## Step 01 or ## Step 02a.
A phrase is picked at instantiation and stored in context.phrase.
Sub-headed phrases: Add ### Goal, ### Motivation, or any ### sub-heading
under a step heading to create named categories:
Generic phrases (no sub-heading) go into context.phrase.
Sub-headed phrases go into context.phrases["CategoryName"].
Both include workflow-level and instance-level phrases in the pool.
Phrase mode: By default, phrases are picked randomly. Set phraseMode: "rotate"
in the workflow config to use day-of-year modulo rotation instead (same as
mega-categories and angles). This is set per-workflow at generation time.
